Running The Social Space has never been something we do from the sidelines.

We’ve always believed that if we’re asking our team to show up, work hard, and care for the space, then we need to be right there with them too.

That means doing a little bit of everything - prepping food, making drinks, washing dishes, taking orders, clearing tables, welcoming customers, and jumping in wherever the day needs us.

For our co-founder Cheryl, being on the floor isn’t just about helping with operations. It’s also how she stays connected to the team, our regulars, and the little everyday moments that make The Social Space what it is.

Because at the end of the day, this has never been just about running a café. It’s about building a space with care, alongside the people who help bring it to life every day. 🤍

So whether you’re here for a coffee, a quiet corner, a meal with a friend, or just a small pause in your day, we’d love to welcome you this week.

Some runs are about pace.
This one is about people.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first Run For Good in June - it was heartwarming to see so many people come together for a morning of movement, coffee, conversations, and support for Fashion For Cancer.

We’re excited to bring Run For Good back in July - and this time, we’re teaming up with The High Panters (THE HIGH PANTERS / THP )!

We’ll be taking an easy scenic 5km route from our Potong Pasir outlet, along the Kallang River and park connector towards Bishan Park. Run, jog, walk, or simply come for the morning and the company. There’s no pressure, no timing, and no competition.

All registration fees will go towards supporting Fashion For Cancer, and each ticket includes a complimentary cold brew coffee at The Social Space after the run.

Leading this month’s run are The High Panters - a community-driven run crew known for their bold energy, strong social culture, and commitment to running free from pace groups. Beyond the kilometres, they’re passionate about connection, belonging, and creating impact through movement.
As with every Run For Good session, some of the cancer survivors from Fashion For Cancer will also be joining us on the route. 💜

We started The Social Space with a simple hope: to create a place where people could gather, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.

As a social enterprise, we also wanted to prove that business could be a force for good, creating opportunities, supporting inclusive employment, and making it easier for people to make more conscious choices in their everyday lives.

Yes, there was coffee. Yes, there was food. But from the very beginning, it was always about the people.

Over the past 8+ years, we’ve shared countless conversations, welcomed familiar faces through our doors, celebrated milestones, and watched a community grow around us. Through it all, our purpose has remained the same: to create a more inclusive, thoughtful, and welcoming place for everyone who walks in.

Eight years on, we’re incredibly grateful to still be doing what we love, surrounded by a community that continues to show up, support us, and believe in what we’re building.

A little note if you’re planning to visit us today (Tuesday 2nd June).

Our Kreta Ayer outlet will be opening later at 1.30PM due to a private event, so do swing by in the afternoon if you’re in the area. ☕️

As Tuesdays are our regular rest day for Potong Pasir, Kreta Ayer will be the only outlet open tomorrow.

Thinking back to this very special session from last staff retreat with .sg. 💛

It was one of those moments that reminded us how much there still is to learn about the people we work alongside every day. Through the Give Me A Hand card game, we found ourselves sharing stories, laughing, tearing up a little, and discovering new sides to one another beyond the usual day-to-day work.

For a team like ours, where trust, patience and understanding matter so much, conversations like these mean a lot. They gave us the space to slow down, listen more deeply, and build stronger connections with one another.

Still such a meaningful memory, and a lovely reminder that sometimes, the simplest questions can lead to the most heartfelt conversations.
