Commonwealth Capital Group is excited to announce the launch of a new food logistics facility at 8 Jalan Besut. The ground-breaking ceremony to mark the construction of the future-forward building was officiated by Guest-of-Honour Minister of State Low Yen Ling, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth on 28 March 2023.
The 2-hectare plot at 8 Jalan Besut, which will be connected to Commonwealth Capital’s existing 1-hectare food hub at 7 Buroh Lane via a land bridge, is being jointly developed with Kajima Development Pte. Ltd.. The facility will be operated by Commonwealth Kokubu Logistics (CKL), a joint venture between Commonwealth Capital and Kokubu Group Corporation, a specialist in Cold Chain Logistics for the F&B industry. This new facility to be occupied by the Group, spanning a total floor space of 500,000 sq ft, will strengthen Commonwealth Capital’s existing integrated food production and logistics capabilities. The building which stands at over 100m tall, will have multi-temperature storage of ‘30 to -30’ (Celsius) including a 45-metre-high top floor housing a state-of-the-art automatic storage and retrieval system in a frozen environment.
“The new development which was purpose-designed to synergise with Commonwealth Capital’s existing capabilities, will feature several highly sophisticated systems and automations. The facility will enable Commonwealth Kokubu Logistics (CKL) to continue growing as the foremost cold-chain solutions provider in Singapore, as it positions itself to expand internationally,” said Mr Andrew Kwan, Group Managing Director of Commonwealth Capital.
