We get this question a lot... There are of course, many factors but here's 3 main push factors.
If you’ve noticed we rarely show our faces on here, it’s not a secret marketing strategy—my brother and I are just naturally camera-shy. 🙈 Because we stay behind the scenes, we can't expect you to magically know who’s behind gomgom. Getting officially Halal-certified means you never have to guess, or play detective. The certificate speaks for us, even when we’re hiding behind the camera.
When we first enrolled in the Halal assurance course, we treated it as a self improvement opportunity. But going through the actual training was a huge eye-opener. Understanding the deep details of supply chain integrity, cross-contamination prevention, and strict storage protocols. Once we had all that knowledge under our belt, we thought: Why stop halfway? Completing the official certification was the natural next step to turn what we learned into a real promise to all our customers.
"Trust us, we’re Muslim-owned" works fine for a casual chat over the counter, but major corporate clients tend to need more than a verbal assurance. (Oh how many rejections we have faced😭).
When big companies order bulk, their procurement teams require formal documentation—not a "take our word for it." Having official certification eliminates any grey areas, opens doors to institutional partners, and gives every client complete peace of mind on paper.
It's just what works for us as a shy sibling-duo! 😀

We're coming clean. For the past 11 wholesome years, there are definitely times we've cut corners. But hey you gotta do it when you gotta do it. Just remember - context matters.

It's been a whirlwind of events the past month with the official closure of our Hong Leong outlet.
When we first started in 2015, our goal was simple - provide a Halal food option in SUTD. In 2022, we decided to venture out to CBD and it was a good 2 years serving the community there before we officially shuttered the Hong Leong store on 19 Sept 2024.
What's next for us? Well, we're loving and focused on what we do best - building sandwiches, bowls and whipping up delicious desserts for our sister brand .sg .
So to everyone who follows our brand and have been supporting us through the journey, we just want to say THANK YOU to you for your endless support and trust in our brand. And don't worry, we're here to stay in SUTD!

Reflecting back, it's been 8 years since we made our first ever sandwich. We don't know if 8 years on, we will still be here, but we're choosing to live in the present, one sandwich at a time.

For public transport, take the East-West Line and alight at Bedok MRT Station. From there, transfer to Bus 42 towards Changi Airport and alight at the Somapah Road bus stop. The sandwich shop is a short walk away.
For driving, take the PIE towards Changi Airport and exit at Exit 4B onto Upper Changi Road East. Continue straight onto Xilin Ave until you reach Somapah Road. Look for available parking along Somapah Road or nearby HDB car parks.
