What people say
Latin American restaurants are known for their vibrant and bold flavors that take your taste buds on a journey. Bacata, located on Cecil Street in Singapore, is no exception. This Latin American restaurant offers a modern concept from Chef Fernando Arévalo that moves with time in orchestrated chapters.
One of the standout dishes at Bacata is the Pressure course, which is anything but simple. The veal breast is braised and then pressure-pressed to create a tender and succulent meat dish. It's served with a silky pressure-pressed polenta cake infused with butter and mascarpone cream, creating an explosion of flavors in every bite.
Another must-try dish at Bacata is the Velvet Add-On to their Release menu. This dish presents a medley of flavors that excite the palate, including wild-caught French cod fish and oceanic Boston lobster alongside sweet butternut squash and savory chanterelle in a heady red wine sauce.
For those looking for something lighter, the Osiblue prawn ceviche from their Release menu is a perfect choice. The delicate crustacean is paired with shallots, avocado, purple potatoes, and marigold to push the flavor boundaries.
Bacata also offers unique courses like "Thursday Night," which pays homage to Chef Fernando's late Italian grandfather who designated Thursday nights as an "Italian night." This course marries his favorite pasta, lasagna, with his heirloom Italian recipe.
Overall, Bacata offers an exceptional dining experience with its modern Latin American cuisine that pushes flavor boundaries while still paying homage to traditional recipes.
