Chemex is a beautifully designed pour-over glass flask that was invented in 1941 by Dr. Peter Schlumbohm. It uses a special Chemex paper filter that is 20-30% heavier than other filters. Similar to the coffee cone, hot water is poured over coffee grounds in a paper filter. The brewed coffee drips into the bottom of the flask which doubles as its own carafe.
While a chemex is portable, it is fragile and requires chemex paper filters. It is also quite hard to clean and requires a special brush.
However, if you like your coffee to be balanced, refined, floral and non-acidic, a chemex would give you just that.
Medium coarse ground coffee beans are suitable for chemex coffee brewing. Here at Domba, you can choose to have your coffee beans in any grind size. Let us know your preference!

Method 4 of brewing coffee: French Press!
For this method, coarse coffee beans are preferred. 2-2.5 tablespoons (or 14-17g) of ground coffee can produce 1 cup of coffee. You would need 4 minutes to brew a cup of coffee that has a pure and clean flavour nuance.
A french press is easy to clean, portable and requires no filters.

Invented in the 1980s, siphon coffee produces a mellow and delicate cup of coffee. While the siphon is very delicate, not portable and finicky to clean, it's one of the coolest methods of brewing coffee. Kinda reminds us of a science experiment π
Medium course ground coffee beans are required for making siphon coffee. A heap of ground coffee would produce several cups of coffee.

The second method of brewing coffee is using a moka pot! While brewing coffee with this method requires a gas stove, it is easy to clean, portable, durable and requires no extra filters.
The coffee brewed using a moka pot is espresso-style, strong and can be bitter. 2.5 to 3 teaspoons of fine to medium course ground coffee (17-22g) produces the equivalent of a single or double shot. It takes about 5 minutes to brew a cup.
