A Heartfelt Goodbye from Us
After nine incredible years, we will be closing our doors this August. While we don’t have an exact date yet, we know the time is near. Like so many small F&B businesses, we’ve been at the mercy of circumstances beyond our control, but what we could control was the love and care we put into every dish and every interaction.
To our amazing customers: THANK YOU. Your unwavering support through busy lunches, challenging times, and even a pandemic meant the world to us. Your smiles, stories, and loyalty made this journey an unforgettable one.
A special thanks to Mandy and every dedicated team member who poured their heart into Chalong over the years. Mandy, especially, has been our rock. Regulars know how effortlessly she handles the lunch rush with speed, grace, and a smile. We couldn’t have done it without her.
As we prepare to say goodbye, our hearts are full of gratitude for you, for the memories, and for the journey. If you can, we’d love to see you one last time for a final rice bowl.

We will be stopping all bakes as we focus back on our rice bowls. We know some of y’all love the WFH arrangement but we need you guys back in CBD to support all F&B and retail 🙏🙇♂️

With an extremely heavy heart, we have to close Chalong @ Tanjong Pagar with immediate effect.
We sincerely thank the best customers any business can ask for. We are thankful for last 5 years of support, glowing reviews on our social media, and also private messages on how we can improve as a company. We won’t have been able to last this long if not for your support. 🙏🙏
The truth is that talks with our landlord fell through. Our lease was suppose to end in November 2021.
We turned to the government’s Realignment Framework and we were shy of 1.2% to hit the minimum requirement of 70% drop in sales. We were then tossed back to the hands of the landlord. Since then, the terms of our lease had not been fair. K Shanmugam Sc
4 years in Tanjong Pagar, we have never defaulted or pay our rent late. The worst of all was when we were told that we should not keep using Covid as an excuse for the situation we are in.
