Your eyes might've caught the beetroot hummus that could easily be mistaken as a blueberry sorbet, but the real superstar of this dish is the signature chili or sambal on the top right! I should've asked for extra!
It is SPICY 🔥 and by spicy I don't mean just tickling your tongue, but like citrusy, fiery hot. The peeking chili seeds should give you a clue. Have this chili with your steaming white rice, gurame goreng, and lalapan - I'm sure you'd enjoy it just fine. Even *I* enjoyed it with pesto chicken, sauteed mushroom, leafy greens, roasted garlic, and potato salad 🤣 a combo I would never have imagined having with a fresh sambal.
(And yes, while the beetroot hummus looks pretty, it's my least favorite of all)
Now would somebody take me to Ikan Bakar Cianjur please
