What people say

The Original Vadai is a must-try snack in Singapore that has been satisfying taste buds for over two decades. This food stall has come a long way since its humble beginnings at the Hari Raya Puasa Bazaar in Geylang Serai. Today, it has multiple outlets across the island, including one on Joo Chiat Road.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly The Original Prawn Vadai - a crispy and flavorful doughnut-shaped snack with prawns embedded inside. It's a local delicacy that can't be found anywhere else in India or Malaysia. The vadai is best enjoyed hot and paired with fresh green chillies.

What makes The Original Vadai stand out is not just its delicious food but also its inspiring story. Mdm Rani, the founder's mother, was the driving force behind bringing this snack to the masses despite facing numerous challenges and discouragement along the way. Her perseverance paid off as The Original Prawn Vadai gained popularity among all communities.

If you're looking for a unique and tasty snack to try in Singapore, head over to The Original Vadai on Joo Chiat Road or any of their other outlets across the island. You won't regret it!
