Okay, “hidden gem” is overused 😅 but Daisy’s really is hidden.

I still remember the first time I drove into Temasek Club to check the place out — couldn’t believe there was a spot this tranquil tucked away like that. Rifle Range Road felt like it didn’t lead anywhere at all.

We’re on the 1st floor, right next to the swimming pool. The rustic decor is our little nod to keeping Nyonya heritage and recipes alive.

13 years ago, I took over from Mum at West Coast 📸

Found this old photo of the very first Daisy’s Dream Restaurant.

I can still feel the heat in the kitchen, the steam from the pots, and Mum’s voice telling me “go slow with the rempah.” Haha. Back then it was just us, long hours, and recipes we promised never to change.

Crazy to think how far we’ve come, but the food’s still cooked the old way.

All our recipes have been kept the same since grandma’s time. No shortcuts, no modern twists — just vintage Nonya cuisine, done the way Daisy did it.

The slow stews, the pounded rempah, the recipes that take time and patience. The kind of dishes you don’t usually attempt at home.

"Why we love it: Chunky ngoh hiang is rolled into balls so you have a maximum surface area of crisped bean curd skin to crunch into. A plate of robust squid, dressed in its own ink, is coloured in flavours of deep caramel and smoke. And though the plates are a tad smaller than their peers, you'll come to understand why after chewing on the pulp of fragrant rempah that thickens a bowl of beef rendang. Daisy’s seriously not cutting corners here – this place is indeed a dream for the palate."
