When we first started, we had many different opinions on how the chicken chop in our cafe should taste. As a huge chicken lover, I was very particular about it. To me, chicken should not just fill the stomach. It should bring comfort, warmth and satisfaction with every bite.
For months, our first chef and I had endless arguments and discussions over the marination and flavours. Of course, when it comes to cooking professionally, I’m definitely not the expert. But when it comes to eating chicken, I take it very seriously.
One fine day, I decided to completely revamp the recipe by bringing in my late father’s homemade chicken recipe. It was a recipe filled with memories, warmth and the taste of home.
That was how Chicken Chop Rehomed was born.
We named it Chicken Chop Rehomed because we wanted every piece of chicken to find a good home in our customers’ stomachs and hearts.
Slowly, we started seeing less leftovers and more empty plates. Customers began savouring every last bite of the chicken on their plates. Encouraged by the love and support, we eventually used the same recipe for our Oriental Truffle Chicken Burger and our Stray Chicken Rice too.
Today, we are so thankful that Chicken Chop Rehomed and Stray Chicken Rice have become two of our best sellers.
Besides our Pet Menu and Meal of Love, we will now also be donating 100g of protein to stray feeders and Animal Welfare Groups for every Chicken Chop Rehomed and Stray Chicken Rice ordered, so that more stray and rescued animals can enjoy a warm meal too.
So the more you eat, the more they get to eat.
Come down and try our homely and comforting chicken dishes, and perhaps you’ll understand why our customers wipe their plates clean till the very last piece of chicken. And if you are feeling hungry now after reading and seeing the photos, be patient as we are taking a rest tomorrow as Tuesdays are our weekly off days. We pawmise, we will be back to serve you a yummy plate of chicken on Wednesday onwards! 😈

Although we didn’t perform as well as we had hoped in our Weekday Give Back Series for February and March, we are truly grateful for the unwavering support from our kind-hearted patrons.
Because of you especially those who brought along their fur babies to enjoy our Pet Menu and Meal of Love, we were still able to raise a total of 46kg of protein for the rescued animals recently taken in by Noah’s Ark CARES Singapore.
Thank you for choosing to dine with us and for helping turn every meal into meaningful support for the rescues.

We owe everyone a sincere apology for the slow service this morning at Stray Cafe.
One of our chefs was unwell today, and unfortunately that left us short handed during a busy service. On top of that, one of us also had to be at Pet Expo this morning to help raise funds for our rescues, and by the time help managed to rush back through the super jammed Expo traffic, many of our customers had already been kept waiting far too long.
We are truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience caused.
We know it is not common for cafes and restaurants to put up a post like this, but we want to always be honest, humble and transparent with all of you. Your support means everything to us, not just as customers of Stray Cafe, but as part of the bigger mission behind what we do.
The good news is that we are now back to our normal operating mode, and a new chef has kindly stepped forward to help us. We are so grateful, and we hope you will trust us again as we get things back on track… as normal as we can, we pawmise…
For those who may not know, every bit of support you give Stray Cafe helps one of our founders continue the work of keeping Stray Cafe afloat so we can support the strays, rescues, and stray feeders out there. As we navigate the rising costs of rental, utilities and manpower, we remain committed to doing our part for the little strays out there.
It has been a year since we started pledging proteins to community stray feeders, knowing that this small effort would help many hungry animals. Thanks to the incredible support from our big hearted customers, we are proud to share that we raised a total of 376kg of protein in 2025.
Many have asked how they are helping. For every Pet Menu or Meal of Love ordered, 100g of protein is donated to community stray feeders or Animal Welfare Groups. This programme supports feeders who often dig deep into their own pockets every day just to make sure the strays do not go hungry.
We may not be able to do much on our own, but we truly believe that every little bit counts.
So please continue to support Stray Cafe by choosing us whenever you want to enjoy a meal and spend quality time with your fur babies — together, we can make a difference.
