No matter how stressed we are at work, we still need a break. May 16 was The French Stall’s Annual Outing. This year we were off to Malacca. Initially, we wanted to take the train (perhaps the last train journey for most of us in Singapore) but because of the short day, we just have to be satisfied with the 45-seater Orange Bus. Smooth journey… only excitement was watching the herd of cows crossing the road! Starting off at almost 8am, most of us were continuing our sleep after the breakfast stop in Johor. Upon reaching Malacca, we had our share of Nonya Lunch. And the day was packed exploring Malacca. It was a very hot day, starting with St Francis Xavier Church, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Jonker Street, Stadhuys, Porta de’ Santiago and the Melaka River Cruise to name a few. Ended with beer time at 5pm when we have to head back to Singapore to join the rest who could not come with us. Sumptuous seafood dinner at the Red House at The Quayside followed by the 10th Anniversary Speech & Award-Giving time to Lily and Yoong Jia for being with The French Stall for the past decade. It was a great day and may we have more decades to come for THE FRENCH STALL. Hooray!
