here’s a day in my life as the daughter of the owner of Penang Place 🤍
Part 2 of the previous video!

I’m just so happy I got to do this with my mom.
It’s crazy to think she started all of this for me, and now we’re here together, changing the flowers side by side.

We laughed so much doing this.
And the best part is… when I look at the restaurant now, I don’t see something that replaces what she built.
I see something new that she’s still creating, still shaping, still a part of.

Also, a special shoutout to Oliver - he honestly did most of it. He’s such a gem and we’re so grateful to have him with us 🤍✨

If you’ve been to Penang Place, you’ll know it’s more than just a restaurant. There’s so much love behind it.

A day in my life as the daughter of the owner of Penang Place

This one caught me off guard.
Taking down the flower planters today made me realise just how much time, effort, and sacrifice went into building this place.

My mom used to do everything herself. Every little detail. Even these tiny beads - they look so small, but when there are thousands of them, they’re so heavy.

I was 8 when we first opened.
My parents were almost 50.
And they built this restaurant from scratch… just to provide for all 6 of us.

I’m just amazed.
By their love, their resilience, and everything they gave up for us.

If you’ve ever visited Penang Place, just know there’s so much of my parents’ heart behind every corner.

Happy Chinese New Year 🧧✨

To make this year extra special, we’ve set up a beautiful festive backdrop for you to take photos with - perfect for family portraits and reunion memories ☺️ Oliver, our part-time server who is also an incredibly talented designer, transformed the space with stunning florals that make the whole restaurant feel even more vibrant and celebratory.

We’ve even added stars to the ceiling to create a grand, magical atmosphere. It looks especially dreamy at night… and yes, we’ll share more about how it’s perfect for weddings after the new year 🤍✨
