To reach Whitley Road in Singapore via public transport, take the MRT to Novena station and transfer to bus number 52 at the bus stop next to Velocity Mall. Alight at the bus stop opposite Thomson Medical Centre and walk southwards along Thomson Road. Turn right onto Whitley Road and continue until you reach your destination.
For those driving, take the PIE towards Woodsville Tunnel and exit at Jalan Toa Payoh. Continue straight onto Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, then turn left onto Thomson Road. Turn right onto Whitley Road and look for parking options nearby.

The bar's objective is to promote Singapore's music and its bands in a socially responsible manner, allowing non-profit groups to have fun together.
The Tanglin Music Club Bands, Soft's Bands Collective Singapore (SBCS), and Soft's Retribution Movements Singapore (RMS) are the three main groups that are most active at Chocolate Bar. Together, they constitute approximately 170 bands as of February 2011. Thanks to Jay Chong, Mrs Chong, and Andrew, this has been made possible.
Apart from its support for the local music scene, Chocolate Bar also offers reasonably priced drinks compared to most clubs in Singapore. It provides a different experience altogether - "A Musician Home" - where patrons can enjoy good music and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere.
