A week of baking reminded me how fun but tiring, how delicious and fulfilling it is 💖
- Hazelnut Chocolate Tart - chocolate sable, hazelnut frangipane, hazelnut praline, roasted hazelnuts and a dark chocolate ganaché, topped with an essential sprinkle of flaky salt
- Apple Grape Tart - almond shortcrust pastry, slow roasted cinnamon apples with grapes and topped with an oat crumble

'In The Box' is a new format I'm trying for both me and you to try new stuff! For these 2 weeks this box has 2 items:
1) apple grape crumble tart
if you like apple tarts, this will definitely not disappoint! the grape jam is juicy and fresh and the additional crumble complements this perfectly 😛
- newly improved shortcrust pastry
- grape jam
- apple slices
- old fashioned oat crumble
2) Pear Chestnut Cake
if you like an interesting flavour combination, this is the cake for you! a light moist cake with pear cubes in the batter, pear slices on the top and chestnut puree in the batter. Walnuts on the top provide more crunch.

Directions to Dawson Road can be reached by both public transport and driving.
Public transport:
- Take the MRT to Queenstown Station (EW19) and exit through Exit A.
- Walk towards the bus stop along Commonwealth Avenue West.
- Take Bus 195 and alight at Blk 97, Dawson Road.
- Cross the road and walk towards the shophouses where you will find what you are looking for.
Driving/Parking:
- From Central Expressway (CTE), take Exit 3 for Jalan Bahagia.
- Keep right at the fork and follow signs for Whampoa Road/Dawson Road.
- Turn left onto Jalan Bukit Merah Road then right onto Henderson Road.
- Turn left onto Alexandra Road then continue straight on Tiong Bahru Road.
- Turn left onto Delta Rd followed by another left turn into Dawson Rd.
- Park your car in any available public parking lot along the road or nearby blocks.
