Some people come for coffee.
Some stay a little longer than they planned to.
A few moments around Community recently.

Rhythm, repetition, and attention.
A series of small habits repeated carefully.
The grind.
The tamp.
The extraction.
The slight pause before pouring.

Make the next coffee you have the best one today.
But also, drink some water.

Every roast is a series of small decisions. A few seconds longer. A few degrees warmer. A subtle shift that most people will never notice, but somehow still taste.
Before a coffee reaches the shelf, it passes through countless moments of scrutiny. Hands sorting through beans. Eyes searching for consistency. Noses looking for clues.
Good coffee rarely happens by accident.
It is usually the result of someone paying attention.

Some people pack an extra shirt.
Some pack coffee.
The AeroPress Go was made for the latter.
Compact enough to follow you from city streets to mountain trails, yet capable of brewing a cup that feels anything but compromised. Whether you’re after something clean and bright or rich and concentrated, it adapts to wherever the day takes you.
We often pair ours with the Fellow Prismo for a brew that’s both forgiving and remarkably consistent.
Because being away from home shouldn’t mean settling for average coffee.
P.S. Arguably the most useful thing you’ll find in a backpack.

Before the label.
Before the grinder.
Before the cup.
A lot of heavy lifting happens before we focus on our craft, from the origin to our roastery. Our work is secondary to the the labour behind the scenes.
P.s. Free Gym Membership anyone?

A single producer. Four interpretations.
Juan Peña’s Hacienda La Papaya has long been one of the most respected names in Ecuadorian coffee. This month, we’re exploring just how much can exist within one origin.
From the clarity of a washed Typica Mejorado, to the depth of a natural Sidra, the richness of an oak barrel-fermented lot, and the elegance of a washed Gesha — each coffee begins from the same place, yet arrives in the cup with an entirely different voice.
Four coffees. Four processing philosophies. One producer.
Available this month at Community.

Last weekend, we welcomed Mervin () to the roastery to explore how different roasting philosophies can shape the same coffee in entirely different ways.
Using a fully washed Typica Mejorado from Hacienda La Papaya, Ecuador, we spent the morning tasting through two distinct approaches — discussing how development, structure, sweetness, clarity, and expression reveal themselves through the decisions made behind the roaster.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked questions, shared perspectives, and made the session what it was.
A reminder that coffee is never just about origin. It’s also about the people who make it come to life.

For June, here’s what’s brewing at Community.
Explore a New Origin — Hacienda La Papaya, Ecuador
This month, we’re showcasing a coffee from Hacienda La Papaya, produced by Juan Peña.
Widely recognised for his relentless pursuit of quality and innovation, Juan’s coffees have become some of Ecuador’s most celebrated exports, balancing clarity, sweetness, and structure in equal measure. A chance to spend some time with a producer and origin that continues to shape conversations around modern coffee.
6 June — Monthly Coffee Tasting with La Marzocco
We’re partnering with La Marzocco for this month’s coffee tasting.
An opportunity to taste through a selection of coffees, exchange thoughts with fellow coffee drinkers, and spend an afternoon exploring what makes each cup unique.
The tasting is free to attend, but spaces are limited.
First come, first served.
Coming Soon — A New Coffee Bar
Something new is taking shape in the middle of the city.
Built around great coffee, thoughtful hospitality, and the community that has always been at the heart of what we do.
We’re not ready to share everything just yet, but we’ll be bringing you behind the scenes as the space starts to come together. Keep a lookout.
More soon.

Not every iced tea needs to be simple.
Our Ispahan Iced Tea brings together rose green tea, raspberry preserve, and lychees for something floral, bright, and refreshing without being overly sweet.
Inspired by the classic Ispahan flavour combination, it’s the sort of drink that works equally well alongside a pastry, between coffees, or on its own during a warm afternoon.
Available at Community.
