Did you know that โlo heiโ translates to โtossing up good fortuneโ in Cantonese? This may explain why lo hei, also known as yu sheng, has become a cherished tradition during the Lunar New Year. This colourful festive salad is often served with an elaborate preparation ritual that involves reciting auspicious phrases as each ingredient is added, followed by a joyful tossing where wishes for prosperity are exchanged.
