The Penny Black Victorian London Pub is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for an authentic and traditional pub experience in Singapore. Located at the Raffles Place entrance to Boat Quay, this pub is a true representation of a Victorian London pub, designed and built in England by master craftsmen and shipped piece by piece to Singapore where it was re-assembled by the same craftsmen.
The attention to detail is evident throughout the pub, from the high tables and inviting bar on the ground floor to the comfortable setting of the upstairs 'Snug bar'. The riverfront seating area provides a perfect setting for enjoying drinks while taking in the vibrant atmosphere of Boat Quay.
The name "Penny Black" is derived from the world's first ever self-adhesive postage stamp which was printed black in colour, sold for one penny, and first issued on 6th May 1840. The Penny Black pub was created as a celebration of this historic moment from UK's Royal Mail.
Whether you're looking for an informal business meeting or private party/function, air-conditioned lunches or cocktails with friends, The Penny Black has got you covered. With its highly authentic representation of a traditional Victorian London pub, it's no wonder that The Penny Black is one of Singapore's most popular pubs.
