One Last Hurrah: Chimichanga Little India
On 25 April, we closed the doors to our first home at Dunlop Street.
For 10 years, this 800 sq ft space served thousands of margaritas and quesadillas, hosted countless nights, and welcomed strangers who became part of the Chimichanga family.
As DJ Snapping played the final track, guests took pieces of Chimichanga with them. Posters from over a decade of memories and events came off the walls and into the hands of the people who made this place what it was.
This space was where it all began. It carried us through growth, challenges, and a global pandemic. Closing it is not an end but a transition.
We now look ahead to our next chapter.
Chimichanga Raffles City opens this June. A larger space, seating over 100 guests, just a short distance from where our journey started.
Meanwhile, we hope to see you at our 6 other locations across Singapore.

One Last Hurrah: Saying goodbye to our Little India space.
In 2016, we set out to build a small taqueria on Dunlop Street. Mexican food wasn’t big in Singapore then, but after a trip to Mexico, we felt strongly the market was missing something.
Our first home was an 800 sq ft shophouse in Little India. We called it Chimichanga, named after a dish few had heard of here at the time. Tex-Mex or Mexican, people debated. For us, it didn’t matter. We wanted a chimichanga, and we brought it to our tropical island.
10 years later, that small space has grown into 6 outlets across Singapore. We have seen the highs, the lows, and made it through COVID.
Now it is time to say goodbye to where it all began.
Though Chimichanga Little India will be closing its doors, the Chimichanga group continues. This is just the end of our first home.
We invite you to join us for one last hurrah, a final night at 36 Dunlop Street.
The space is almost cleared out. What remains is good drinks, familiar walls, and the people who made it what it was.
Capacity is limited to 70 pax.
