🍙 Kimbap vs Sushi — what’s the difference?
They may look similar, but they’re actually quite different.
Kimbap is a Korean rice roll seasoned with sesame oil, usually filled with cooked ingredients.
Sushi is a Japanese dish made with vinegar rice and often raw fish.
Both are delicious, but kimbap is usually more filling and perfect for a quick meal.
If you haven’t tried it yet… now’s the time 😉

What exactly is Kimbap? 🇰🇷
Kimbap is one of Korea’s most popular everyday foods.
It’s a Korean rice roll made with seasoned rice, fresh vegetables, and savoury fillings wrapped in seaweed.
Unlike sushi, the rice is seasoned with sesame oil instead of vinegar, giving it a richer and more savoury flavour.

What people say
Yummy Yap Eating House in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious and authentic Singaporean cuisine. This restaurant and cafe offers a variety of mouth-watering dishes, including Braised Pork Belly Rice, Prawn Noodle, Kolo Mee, and more.
What makes Yummy Yap Eating House even more special is the heartwarming story behind it. The owner, Mr Alan Yap, opened the restaurant with his sister to carry on their mother's legacy of cooking and serving yummy noodles. His mother, Mdm Lee Yok Sim, used to be a wanton mee hawker who raised her children single-handedly with the income from her noodle stall. She was a courageous mother who worked hard to support her family after her husband passed away tragically in 1977.
In 2017, Mdm Lee was diagnosed with liver cancer and was admitted into Assisi Hospice in end 2018. Through the arrangements of the care team, Dr Tony Tan visited Mdm Lee, fulfilling one of her final wishes. She passed away peacefully in Assisi on 30 October 2018. To show his gratitude for the care that they provided to his mother previously, Mr Alan Yap donated the proceeds from the stall’s soft opening on 1 Feb to Assisi Hospice.
Not only does Yummy Yap Eating House serve delicious food but it also has a heartwarming story behind it that adds to its charm. The restaurant is definitely worth visiting for both its food and its inspiring backstory.
