What Is BUNGA MANGGAR
Bunga Manggar Are Colorful, Shiny Paper Or Plastic Strips Wound Around Thin Bamboo Sticks.
In The Olden Days The Bamboo Sticks Were Poked In A Pineapple But Now Styrofoam Is Being Used. There Are Usually Two Of Them And Are Seen On Display At The Entrance Of The Venue Of The Wedding Ceremony As A Landmark For The Guests.
Bunga Manggar Are Also Used To Welcome The Wedding Entourage Consisting Of The Bride And Groom When They Arrived With The Kompang (Malay Drums). Both Bunga Manggar Are Temporary Removed From The Entrance And Are Carried By Two Members Of The Wedding Entourage Stands Beside The Bride & Groom For A Short March From Outside The Wedding Ceremony Area (Usually From The Carpark Or Lift Lobby) To Wedding Ceremony Entrance. The Bride & Groom With The Kompang Will The Proceed To The Wedding Dais.
