NEW Korean-Japanese café near Serangoon MRT! ☕️🍜
GUI Cafe has opened a new outlet at 2 Teck Chye Terrace, just a short walk from Serangoon MRT. If you’re looking for a new café in Singapore for your next café-hopping stop, here’s what we tried 👇
🌶️ Rose Somen with Arabiki Sausages
Flavourful with a good spicy kick! The somen had a lovely texture and I liked that the sauce wasn’t overly creamy or jelak. The juicy Arabiki sausages were delicious too — spice lovers will enjoy this!
🦑 Ika Geso
One of my favourites! Super crispy deep-fried squid tentacles with tender squid inside, without being too oily. Such an addictive side dish to snack on.
🍱 Traditional Korean Lunchbox (Dosirak)
A simple, comforting Korean classic. Nothing too surprising flavour-wise, but satisfying when you’re craving something familiar and homely.
🍜 Korean Ramen
Hot, comforting and absolutely yummilicious, served with fresh kimchi and premium Korean luncheon meat. It’s something you could easily recreate at home, but still hits the spot when you want a warm bowl of comfort food.
🍰 Original Burnt Cheesecake — MUST ORDER!
Rich and creamy with a mild caramelised sweetness. Definitely save some stomach space for this!
☕️ Dalgona Honeycomb — MUST-TRY DRINK!
Strong espresso with fresh milk, topped with crunchy honeycomb candy. I especially liked that it wasn’t overly sweet, so you still get that bold coffee flavour.
Overall, GUI Cafe is a cosy new addition to the Serangoon café scene, especially if you enjoy Korean and Japanese-inspired comfort food. My must-orders would be the Ika Geso, Burnt Cheesecake and Dalgona Honeycomb. 🤎
