🦞 A Lobster Fact 🦞
All lobsters caught in Maine must adhere to the state’s minimum and maximum size limits.
Lobstermen use a gauge to measure the carapace (hard upper shell) of each lobster and if it’s smaller or larger than the catchable length, the lobster must be thrown back. Industry regulations like this help preserve the young lobster population and ensure the sustainability of the fishery!
