This International Women's Day, we want to celebrate the story of the women behind the success of the kombucha we sell at Lean & Green.

Summer Hassam and Michele Vanlangenaeker come from very different backgrounds, but after becoming friends in Singapore, they discovered a mutual interest in kombucha. This was the spark of an idea that they could start brewing and making a business from selling drinks… until they took a bold step in January 2019 and established the Wild Boocha brewery!.

Wild Boocha uses organic teas and organic raw cane sugar, carefully curating their tea blends for complementary fruit and herb combinations. This gives a wide variety of flavours to their drinks, ensuring there is something to satisfy everyone's tastes. Likewise, it is the blend of Summer and Michele’s collective experiences that creates Wild Boocha’s distinctiveness! More than twenty years in the wine industry may have given Summer a head start in the brewing process and developing flavour profiles, but it was the diversity of their prior experiences that complemented each other well and has contributed hugely to their success.

Both Summer and Michele have learned that, as entrepreneurs, they need to stay true to themselves, listen to the guidance from those close to them, have clear goals, stay humble, and act with decency with employees and customers.
